In the July 2013 issue of Home & Design Magazine, Wagner Schmidt was selected & featured as one of the "HOT TALENT" up-and-coming designers in the Washington, D.C. area. Her work on a DC condo was also featured in the January 2014 issue of Home & Design. JWS Interiors has been showcased in other print and online media including The Washington Post and House of Fifty, as well as numerous design blogs such as Apartment Therapy, Design*Sponge, Pink Peonies, West Elm's Front & Main, CocoCozy, Refinery29, House of Turquoise & DC by Design. Jennifer was also selected by Houzz as a monthly contributing designer on her "Product Picks" every month.
Her design philosophy is to keep decor simple, timeless, and luxurious. As an entrepreneur and mother of two daughters, Jennifer understands the importance of designing practical, yet beautiful spaces. As seen here on her blog "Affordable Luxury", you can also find daily inspiration & decorating ideas in addition to resources for some of the pieces she uses in her own designs.
Jennifer's love of design began as a child and eventually grew into a full-fledged passion and business. After earning a degree in Communications and working in the public relations field for six years, she decided to make a career change. After working with high-end clients at the Washington Design Center for a brief stint, she went back to school, took a few design classes, and realized this is what she was meant to do. So, with encouragement from family and friends, she started JWS Interiors in 2006 on a part time basis and hence JWS Interiors was born.
