This Home Is the Epitome of Understated Glam

It's draped in soft neutral hues, but is far from boring.

    A Smart, Eclectic Mix

When Jennifer Schmidt, the interior designer behind JWS Interiors, was approached by a couple of new homeowners to transform their space, she was met with a total blank slate.
"When I showed up, the house was completely gutted," Jennifer says. "It was exciting to start from scratch, and the owners knew they wanted something neutral and comfortable, but pretty."
    A Welcoming Living Room
Neutral hues like crisp white and cozy grays sound safe in theory, but Jennifer knew that the look could fall flat if you don't layer pieces with different textures and finishes. Her smart solution? Choosing hues with super-subtle hints of purples and blues, and mixing furniture and accents from mass retailers with vintage and flea market finds.
