Happy Holidays From Our Family To Yours

I wanted to take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!

Thank you so much for your kind support of this blog!

I wish you a Very Merry Holiday filled with laughter and good times.

I realize every year as I get older to savor the small moments as they come and go so quickly.

I'm taking off some time to be with my family so there will be a small hiatus of blog posts for a few days.

All the best,
Jennifer

A Gorgeous (and Easy) Dessert Recipe for The Holidays

Hi Everyone!

I'm so thrilled it's Saturday and I'm already in the kitchen as we speak making these fabulous Gingerbread Cookie Dough Truffles, thanks to the food blog, Love & Olive Oil  (Recipe below pics)

I don't know about you, but I LOVE anything with gingerbread and yes I do get Starbucks Gingerbread Lattes.

So, how pretty are these to serve over the holidays or better yet take as a hostess or holiday gift?

They look super easy to make!

ENJOY!

XOXO
Jennifer

Gingerbread Cookie Dough Truffles

Gingerbread Cookie Dough Truffles

Gingerbread Cookie Dough Truffles

Yield: about 30 truffles
Total Time: 2 hours

Ingredients:

1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/4 cup unsulphered molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 ounces white-chocolate candy coating

Directions:

In a large bowl, beat butter, molasses, and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in vanilla. Stir in flour, spices, and salt and mix on low speed (or by hand) until incorporated. Cover and chill dough for 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.
Form dough into 1-inch balls and arrange them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Place sheets in the freezer for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt candy coating in a double boiler or microwave according to package directions, being careful not to overheat it. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip truffles one at a time in candy coating to cover. Tap fork on the edge of the bowl to shake off excess coating, and return truffles to baking sheets. Quickly top with decorative sprinkles or edible glitter (if desired), before coating sets. Truffles will keep, refrigerated in an airtight container, for up to 5 days.

SNEAK PEEK PART 1 ON MY HOLIDAY TABLETOP SETTING --DIY !

Hi!!
I'm in the throws of putting together my Christmas Eve tabletop design.

I didn't want to spend a lot, so I bought small plants at my local grocery store. I decided on a more natural/rustic theme this year.

I took these from my iPhone so sorry that they aren't the best quality.

What do you think?
I'll keep you posted as I keep working on it!

Have a great weekend!

XOXO
Jennifer

HERE's WHAT YOU NEED:
1) a collection of small plants (you could also do with flowers if you want more color)
2) 2 white birch logs..I found mine at HomeGoods
3) Burlap or similar placements.
4) Glue Dots for Crafts
5) Ornaments to decorate around.. (I still haven't put mine out yet)

DIRECTIONS:
1)Set out your plants in a linear fashion along table
2) Fold your placemats in half lengthwise to set against sides of pots
3) Set placements around pots so you don't see the "pot"  and use glue dots as needed to keep in place
4) Place one birch long along bottom of placemats to hold in place
5) Add ornaments/other decorations!
