Hi everyone!

Well, it was 65+ degrees yesterday here in Virginia and it was so great to get outside and enjoy the warm weather with my girls!

It got me thinking about putting away blankets (although this isn't really going to happen just yet) and what rooms I want to paint. I'm ready for SPRING!

Here is a design board I put together for all of you to enjoy the colors of spring!

Twin Bedroom Project Revealed-- House of Fifty Magazine!

I am so excited to finally share with you final photos of the twin girls' bedrooms I worked on last year.  The reason I haven't shared is because....

Today they are featured in House of Fifty's Winter 2013 issue!
(Now available in print, online, and iPad versions)

Below is the article which features photos, background on the project and my budget tips for decorating:
(Pages 86-93)

Special thanks to Janell Beals of House of Fifty and my client, "A" for being a superb client & friend as always!

E-Decor Services/Sample Boards

Hi everyone!

I've received several emails in the past week about my e-decor service, so I thought I'd expand a little on what you get with this service.

You first receive a detailed questionnaire on the space you'd like designed as well as instructions for measuring your space. You are responsible for sending me the measurements and then I begin once payment is made.

Designed for those clients who don't live in the Metro DC area, JWS Interiors' E-Decor Service is similar to my full service design in that you still receive:

1--A design board featuring each piece I've selected for your space in color.
2- A detailed list with links for shopping sources for each piece so you can easily implement the design plan for your room

**And new to my E-Decor Service is I'm now sending E-Decor clients a white box which includes a 5"x7" posterboard card that features #1 and #2 above. If paint and/or wallpaper are a part of the design, you will also receive color swatches of those.

I've recently started adding to this to my service to make it more personal. And, isn't it exciting when you receive a box in the mail?

Pricing starts at $300.

Contact me at for more information.

Here are two examples of design boards.

PS--Keep your eyes out in February--I've teamed up with a fashion blogger to design her foyer using my E-Decor service!!

Little Girl's Room All Grown Up

Thought for the Day

A Family Friendly Chair

Hi !

In the past you've seen me write about leather and faux leather kitchen/dining room chairs and how great they are with kids.  We all know that kids are messy and having the ability to simply wipe down a chair without a second thought is well... what we all want!

So, I found a beautiful white (and they have charcoal too) faux leather dining chair that could work in just about any space.

Check out CB2's "Stick Around Side Chair"  created by husband and wife TV reality design stars --The Novograz's !

You can use this chair with a warm wood table for an eclectic look; a white lacquer table for a clean modern look; or a black farmhouse table for a more cottage chic look. The possibilities are endless. And--how about as an office chair..pull "write" up to your desk ;)

Art: Where to Find and DIY Ideas for Your Walls

As a decorator, I still find one of the hardest things to finish a room is the art. Art to me is so personal and everyone has a different take on it/style.

I use Ballard,, HomeGoods, among other sites to find nice, affordable wall art.

Today, I wanted to share with you a new site I like for art as well as DIY ways to decorate your walls.

PS-If you have a favorite source for art, please share! Thanks!

First, Minted has a great site for fun, modern prints.

Here are a few of my favs: (Scroll down for DIY wall art ideas)

And if you are a DIY person , then these ideas may be for you

Find a great book such as an architecture, photography, travel, whateveryourinterest is type book and carefully tear out the pages. You can easily frame these photos if they are in standard sizes (If they aren't, you'll need to get custom mats likely). For frames, I like West Elm, Target, and IKEA for wall frames.

Here are some pics of DIY art:

How creative..just frame scrapbook paper!

New Kids Shop

If you are looking for beautiful Kids accessories, furniture and more, check out Serena and Lily's new 'Kidshop' which they just launched.

This new "section" of their site has great ideas for kids decor and  more.

Right now you can get 20% off sitewide with the code SPRING20  until midnight tonight. Go shopping!

PS-I have exciting news for you later this week with two different fun opportunities..more soon!

Afternoon Tea in England

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share with you pics of the true English tea service. I've never done this so it was on my list of "to-dos" while in London...and it didn't fall short of my expectations. English tea is delicious and the homemade scones, pastries and finger sandwiches were delicious. I loved the homemade cream they served with the scones.

Here are more pics!

Weekend Photos From London

Hello from London!

I'm so glad I'm able to share pics with you as my husband and I are touring around. It is freezing here and we've had light snow!  Having so much fun seeing the sights!

Today we saw Big Ben, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and more.

We had so much fun navigating Portobello Road and all the adorable antiques dealers.  So many of you emailed me to shop at Liberty, so I did!  (Tomorrow we hit Harrods!)

We had a wonderful lunch at Fortnum & Mason and did a little tea shopping there.

We've eaten very well, so thanks to all of you whom suggested great restaurants!

Here are some pics I wanted to share with you.

Hope you are having a great weekend!
