Happy Thanksgiving/Sneak Peek on My Powder Room Re-Do

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday with family and friends.  I had such a great, restful week with my family and am truly grateful for all that I have.

I am also so thankful for you reading this blog! If it weren't for you, the blog wouldn't exist.

On to the sneak peek.............

While I was away this week, I had my powder room wallpapered!

Here is the photo of the before (I took down the roman shade)
It was a dark, beautiful shade of gray.

I just had the new light and blinds put in
and now it looks like this, thanks to Thibaut's Tanzania wallpaper!

Super fun!  Just need a black hand towel and a few frames on the wall!

Exciting News & Design Boards for Glam Condo Project (Sneak Peek)

Hi Everyone,

I hope your weekend was great!  There's always so much going on around the holidays.

For today's post I wanted to share with you several design boards for the condo project I'm working on. Of course there will be added accessories, but here is our start!

My sweet client "L" hired me to do the entire condo--so here are several of the boards thus far.

Also, I'm super excited to tell you that my DC project I completed a few months ago will be featured in a design magazine in January!

I can't spill all the beans yet, but needless to say I can't wait to see it in print!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Holiday Decor Ideas--Right From My Home

Hi Everyone,

It's that time of year!! Today I wanted to share with you both a gift wrap idea as well as ideas for decorating your tree.

I've always wanted to have a white just goes with my design style. So, I finally purchased one to place in my foyer. I LOVE IT! I bought mine from Bed Bath & Beyond.

My great friend Sallie came over the other day and helped me decorate it. She is a pro at decorating trees...better than I.  So, together we put our heads together and used what I already had to decorate the tree.

Here are the pics !
Check out the beautiful glittery package she wrapped!  The silver rosette garland she put on the gift is from Paris!  Tres chic mon ami!

Best Baby Gift Under $30!

Hello there!

I was going to do a blurb on interiors, but this was just too cute not to post for anyone looking to buy an adorable baby gift or something for their own little one.

Being Thankful

Hi Everyone!

**I'm putting out a disclaimer now, that today's post is a bit sentimental, but I hope to some degree a bit inspirational**

It's this time of year that I believe that we are inherently more aware of all that we have and giving thanks.

I know for me I try to be "consciously thankful" for a healthy, loving family and so much more as much as I can, but still yet, this time of year certainly reminds us to remember those whom are less fortunate.

Be it through a sad face of someone you see on the street, a program at church that needs funding, or closer to home in a friend or family member in need of something--

I hope that people will stop and think especially during these celebratory months of how we can all help others in the tiniest of ways.. because for some, the holidays are not so celebratory.

I found these quotes on Pinterest and wanted to share.

I hope you all have a great week and many blessings ahead of you!

Baker Furniture Holiday Tabletop Decor Event

I attended the Baker Furniture holiday event in Georgetown. It was so much fun seeing other designers and my friend, Patrick Brian Jones was among the selected designers to decorate a tabletop for the event.

Here are some shots I took of the event.

A shout out to my good friend Christopher Patrick (in the photo) and Fanny Zigdon whom I attended the event with.

I hope one of these tables inspires you this holiday season.

Help Me Decide: Powder Room Wallpaper

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a great weekend!

So, I'm making a few changes around our home as you might have seen in my earlier post on my dining room.

Moving onto our main level powder room, I'm tired of the dark gray paint and want a change...

Here are the wallpaper options I'm considering.. I know they are all different.. bear with me.
I'm a creative type, so my mind can be everywhere!

Please help me decide! Which one do I do?

Kitchen Project Photos REVEALED

Hi Everyone,
So, last year my client MS, whom I designed the below family room for, also asked for my design assistance in selecting kitchen cabinets, tile, stools, and more.

I never got a final photo, so she was kind of enough to send to me so that I could share with all of you!

Here it is!

What do you think?
(for your reference, below is the family room I designed that is adjacent to the kitchen)

My Own Dining Room Project

Hi Everyone
I've been driving all over the DC area for client check ins and it's been so much fun seeing different projects come together!

And, speaking of projects, I'm working on one of my very own.

My home is last on the design list since my client's take priority, but nonetheless, eventually everything will get done.

So... I finally had hardwood put in my DR (I know, I know..gasp that I had carpet, but when we built the house, we had to pinch our pennies in some areas.)  I digress..

So, hardwood went in last night.. The old dining room table I removed..the sight of it made me cringe.

So, here is my DR, sans dining table...  but , yes, that is my new cowhide rug !!!

A lot more to go!

Sorry lighting is was way too late at night to be fooling around with the lighting ;)

E-Decor Project Design Board --Modern Lounge Area

Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday!

Today I wanted to share with you an E-Decor Design Board I just completed for a DC couple's vacation home.

It's a very narrow home and they asked for a small lounge area that was modern, fun, and a good place to relax and read.

Here's what I came up with....

Aren't those industrial sconces cool?

Hello there!

In my quest for all things elegant and sometimes a bit glamorous, I've found that I love blush--the color that is.

I love the subtle, soft femininity of this color and realized how beautiful this color could translate to interiors.

Check out these amazing blush-inspired rooms..

Pretty, huh??

PS-This weekend I'm attending a Masquerade Ball--my first ball, let alone a masquerade ball...
I'm super excited and can't wait to share pics over the weekend!

If you choose to use nail head, for heaven's sake, don't be tacky. Skip the nailhead-on-a-roll and do it the old fasioned way, one at a time. It isn't harder, it's just way slower, but guess what? You are already building a headboard, what is one more hour? Plus it won't accidentally get snagged during any, ahem, bedroom festivities.
