More Sneak Peek Part 2--DC Kitchen Nook

Happy Friday folks!

Ahhh.. so glad the weekend is here.  We are trying to beat the heat here in Virginia. It's in the 90s!

So, yesterday I showed you a little snip from my iPhone camera (sorry quality isn't so hot) of the wallpapered entrance to the DC home I'm decorating.

Today, I wanted to show you a sneak peek of the kitchen nook we are doing.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cowhide rug. We got the great table from West Elm and ordered the acrylic chairs online. Wallpapered and then painted the rest of the house Benjamin Moore's Cosmopolitan--One of my fav grays!

We are waiting on the banquette, lighting fixture, as well as art....

Here's a shot MID-PROJECT:

Here's the BEFORE

Sneak Peek on Project--Wallpapered Entrance in DC

Hi Everyone,
It has been crazy busy over here!

Yesterday I was at a secret location that I can't yet spill the beans on, but I promise to fill you in as soon as I can. Very exciting news coming!

Today I wanted to share with you the fun and fabulous wallpaper we just used in a client's entrance in their DC residence.  It is a beautiful shade of charcoal gray and provides that "WOW" factor when you first walk in.

We've selected a stunning white lacquer console table that hasn't come in yet.

Stay tuned for more pics when that arrives and our other selections!

What do you think?

The Elegant Abode -Light & Bright Interiors

I was super excited to come across some rooms that I adored. They were designed by the design duo Ariana Villalta and Ali Vanderpool of The Elegant Abode.

I love serene, calm, beautiful, white or light filled spaces and these ladies know how to do it right!

Check out a few of my favorite rooms they've designed! I could live in any of these rooms any day of the week.

Easy DIY Decorative Idea

Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a restful holiday weekend!

I wanted to share with you a creative decorative idea I came across over the weekend.

This is super easy.
All you need is a frame and a small piece of a favorite fabric to slip under the glass!

If you wanted to make a larger "tray," simply use a larger frame and fabric. Set on your dresser, in the bathroom...anywhere you want to add a little flair!

New Project: Gutting a First Home & Inspiration for New Design

Hi Everyone!
I've got a few new projects to share over the coming weeks.
Today, I'm showing you the obvious BEFORE pictures as we just begin.

I'm working with a soon-to-be-married couple whom are gutting a great first home and I mean --gutting. Check out these photos! It's going to be beautiful in the end!

They've tasked me with decorating the foyer, family room and master bedroom in phases.

I'll be sharing the project with you over the coming months. I'm super excited and already bought a few things for their new home!

Inspiration for New Home..Isn't it gorgeous?  I hope to create this type of feel in their new place!

I bought this mirror at a flea market for somewhere in their new home.. I'm hoping the foyer..And the best part is that it was a GREAT price!

Thanks for the Mention/TableScape Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to first thank Kirsten Krason of 6th Street Design School for including my playroom & basement makeover project in her new "Good Design With Kids In Mind" series.
She pinned several photos from the project here!

Moving on to tablescapes... I found these gorgeous ideas for summer entertaining!  Use what you have--garden flowers and even fresh fruits and vegetables can make the most stunning centerpieces!

Trick out Your Bathroom With A Tray

Just wanted to share this beautiful display on a bathroom sink. It is amazing how a simple tray can help pull a space together and make ordinary things look beautiful. Add a few simple flowers, and voila, you have yourself a nice little setup!

Navy, Gray & Coral/Links You'll Love

Wow, it's been a whirlwind of a week here.. I've met with some fabulous clients and am very excited to be working on their projects.

For one client, we are simply doing an update on her family room. I say update, but really it's just a matter of adding accessories, pillows, a new rug and pulling everything together.

For this project, I thought navy, coral and gray would be beautiful. The client already owns a great modern gray sofa, so I've decided to add a navy and white rug and then we'll pick out some great pillows to tie the room together.

Here are some great examples of how well navy, coral and white can make a room stand out.

As well, I've included some links I hope you'll love!

Links You'll Love:
  1. If you saw my post yesterday on FB--I just made these delicious lemon bars.. Easy to make, I promise!
  2. Just came across these gorgeous pink silk pillows on Etsy
  3. I want to buy this book on how to run a successful blog

Thanks for the Mention!!//What I'm Eyeing and Buying

Hi Everyone,
I hope your week is going well!

Wanted to share with you and shout out to Caitlin Wilson of Caitlin Wilson Textiles for featuring several photos of the family room I just completed using her pillows from her collection on her Lookbook page!  As you know, she is a very talented textile designer and blogger.
You can see it here.  Thanks again!

For today, it's all about what I'm Eyeing and Buying!

I am dying over this Yellow and Black Rug! Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to use for a client project. This would look fantastic with a white sofa and pillows trimmed in black grosgrain ribbon!

Yes!  Not going to lie--this Marc Jacobs black and white maxi is so sexy, yet still completely "wear-able".  I can't afford, but I'd buy if I could!

I DID buy this affordable and chic white linen blazer!

The 3 C's of White

Chic, Clean and Classy.. The 3 C's of White!

I can't get enough. I showed you a couple months back my design board for our master bedroom.  Well, due to the volume of client work, I have not been able to move forward with it. Needless to say, it will eventually get done--with a big white headboard and bedding--my absolute favorite.

Click here to take a peek of the board I put together!

Check out these beautiful spaces using white.
Which is your fav?

I'm skipping Tablescape Tuesday to show you final photos of the family room I started back in December!

This was for a lovely retired couple who enjoyed hosting many family gatherings and needed a major overall. I wanted to lighten and brighten the space, especially since they had beautiful french doors leading out to the patio and high ceilings.

What we did:

-Painted entire brick wall white
-Kept the great sectional and chair and had them re-upholstered (bye bye, plaid!)
-Took down the outdated lattice wallpaper
-Painted the room Benjamin Moore's AC-31, Hot Spring Stones.
-Painted the original dark green ceiling beams
-Hung drapes from the top of the walls
-Created a modern wall gallery of family photos
-Added more pattern and pops of color with pillows & accessories

This was a total transformation!  Before Pic is featured last. And the sneak peek mid-project post is here.

Here is the BEFORE:

Decorating Around A Flat Screen TV

I met with a client over the weekend and one topic we discussed is decorating around her flat screen TV.

It is on an asymmetrical wall, so it's a tricky space, but it does need to be "filled" with art, photos, and/or other decor.  I've been brainstorming what we can do, and I wanted to share with you some images I found to help me decide what to do.

I'm thinking about doing a combination of pictures with a floor lamp on one side.

Which of these ideas do you like best?
