In2Green Eco Blankets--Ikat, Morocco, and More

I recently walked into a local home decor and fashion boutique and fell in love with these beautiful, modern, and very soft blankets by In2Green, who sells environmentally responsible products.  These blankets are so soft and warm and come in a variety of colorways. Great Find: Console For Less

Hi Everyone,

I was in HomeGoods yesterday, part of my weekly run, and came across this console and fell in love. I've been looking at consoles--not only for clients but for myself as well--and was so excited to find this!  I loved the size, the uniqueness of the legs, the color and the simple pull rings. And, the price was right at only $225.

 I've decided to keep for myself because it fits in my hallway nicely. Now I'll just be playing around with the tabletop arrangement. I just set a couple of items on top, but will decorate it soon.  What do you think?

Glam Up Your Place: Chic and Sleek

I love all things lacquered...especially in white or a bold color like turquoise. so, when I came across Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams' tree-trunk tables--all very glamorously lacquered--I was excited.  They come in gray, white or onyx for $370.

I'd put one next to a chair or sofa, or put two together for extra seating. Approx. 16" high x 13" round.

SNEEK PEEK: Family Room Project Using Gray Paint

Happy Friday everyone!  I went to my client's house yesterday and voila..no more yellow paint! So excited to see the freshly painted white fireplace and walls painted Benjamin Moore's Cosmopolitan.  Coming along nicely! Foyer Design Board

Just a quick post on a foyer I'm working on. Here are all the main pieces.  We'll fill in the bottom console shelf with decorative items. We used affordable pieces from Ballard Designs including the Benedetta Console and  Courbe ottomans in Domino-Chocolate fabric.  I think it's a fresh, modern and fun design.

Modern Colorful Lamps.. Best Bang For Your Buck

I'm working on a foyer right now and my client and I are looking for great, stand out table lamps to go on a black console with a white lacquer mirror.  After a little research, I came across these Belly Lamps from The Company Store for only $119 each. What do you think?  Any of these could add that "pop" of color and designer-y feeling to a space.

Monday Mania; Beach Cottages

Good morning to everyone! Hope you had a nice weekend. I had a busy weekend between client meetings, getting the girls' photographs taken and nights out with friends.

Family Room Project Update; Gray Paint; New Accessories

Helloooo. So glad it's Friday!  I popped in yesterday to check on the painting of my client's family room, foyer and well, almost the whole house!  We are changing the oh-so-yellow color to a beautiful gray. Did I tell you the color we decided on?  We decided on Benjamin Moore's Cosmopolitan. It's a sophisticated gray with a bit of tan in it.. We also painted the brick fireplace standard white and whoa.. what a difference. It's so exciting to see a space come together.

We are now working on the foyer and I picked up a great white lacquer mirror for $79 and a foyer rug at HomeGoods. Here are the snapshots..(yes, I know they aren't great pics...but nonetheless, you can see what I have)

A Quick Trick... Making Picture Hanging Easy

I was at a client's home the other day with my contractor hanging a picture gallery up her staircase. I always think that hanging pictures, especially a gallery of photos, can be tricky. In the past, who knows how many holes I've created in my walls that shouldn't be there!  BUT, I am here to tell you that thanks to Stephen, my contractor, I no longer use nails to hang photos. I use the Command (damage-free) velcro strips.  For a decorator, this is next best thing to Pinterest! Ha! Seriously, today I wanted to hang another photo over my desk and I just picked up the strips for $5 at Target and voila my picture was up in 5 minutes.

Perhaps now you won't feel as overwhelmed as I do when I'm going to do a DIY project like this. Take a look at these picture walls and get going!

A Look I Love... Zinc

I have always loved the modern, yet 'comfortable' look of zinc. Crate and Barrel a while back sold a beautiful zinc table that I always wanted but its dimensions were too small to use as a dining table. Over the years, I've clipped magazine articles of both indoor and outdoor interiors featuring zinc pieces.  Here are a few pics I found where a zinc piece was incorporated in the design of the room.   LOVE!
