DIY Project: Decoupaged Wall Letters

So.... I am half way there on decorating the girls' playroom. The room is officially painted (yay!). Today, along with my two girls, we started to decoupage paper letters I bought from PaperSource for $3.75 each.

I have never done decoupage and thought I'd give it a try so I only bought 4 letters.. P L A Y... which will be hung on one of the walls. I went to AC Moore and picked up a pack of scrapbooking paper and ModPodge glue and selected the papers to be glued on that best matched the paint and fabric for the windows.

Basically you cut paper and glue onto the letters then seal again with glue on top of the paper (it dries clear). I didn't cut my paper up into little pieces, instead I used larger pieces.... I used scissors but realized that I really needed a paper cutter pen to cut them more accurately, so to finish them up I will get one.

Here is a pic of the letters when I just started:

1 hour into decoupage, here they are (still need some fine tuning on edges, but you get the point):

Tomorrow I will finish them up and add another layer of paper. :)
