To all of my readers, Happy New Year! I started this blog in late October 2011 and it has been a thrill to wake up each morning for the past 3 months and post my thoughts to share with you! I am thankful for all of you!

What is Your Favorite Turquoise/Blue Paint?

I need your help! As you can see from the pic below I am starting to test paint colors for my kids' playroom and would love to hear about your favorite shades of turquoise and blue! That's also one of a pair of adorable lamps I picked up at HomeGoods for only $29 each! How cute is that shade!

I've tested two paint colors here, Benjamin Moore's Turquoise Mist and Heavenly Blue...but BOTH are too "minty." I am looking for a soft blueish green color/turquoise. Do you have a favorite you can share? Please post!

Cozy Spots

Maybe it's the cold, but I am definitely in hibernation mode. I am loving all these gorgeous photos of rooms with nooks, bed canopies, and enclosures of some sort. It's got me to think how I can make cozy spots in my own home. As I've mentioned before, I'm working on my girls' playroom and it just came to me that I should hang a rod with drapes on the ceiling of either side of the bed perhaps to get that "cocoon" feeling.   Take a look at these beautiful cozy spots:

Help Me Decide..Color Palette

So I am in the middle of putting together my girls' playroom. I have the furniture (all white), a bed with white polka dot bedspread, just ordered a black and white chevron rug from Urban Outfitters, but still need to paint (do I use light blue or grayish blue, turquoise??), figure out window treatments, pillows and artwork.

 I LOVE the idea of stripes on the ceiling..the 5th wall as many people say can often be overlooked. Or, perhaps horizontal stripes on the walls..  Here are some of my inspiration pics.. Which are your favs?  Help me decide on the color palette please!

Getting Ready for New Years! Ideas For a Soiree

Hi Everyone! I'm back after having a wonderful time with my family on Christmas. Still enjoying this week with relatives coming from out-of-town, but I had to get a post up in time before New Year's Eve!

As we get ready to celebrate this special time of year, I just wanted to wish you a wonderful holiday from our family to yours. 

I am taking a break for the remainder of the week to participate in my kids' activities and family events.

I am in the process of updating my office and just received (thanks Mom!) Pottery Barn's linen covered pinboard at my doorstep. I saw two of these over a desk in a magazine and decided I needed at least one for all my ideas for clients and then pour moi aussi!

Fun with Fur!

I was a bit delirious this weekend and decided to actually go to the mall with my family and do a little Christmas shopping. It's not that I didn't know it would be CRAZY with herds of people; we just wanted to get out a little. In any case, there were some good bargains to be had and when I see a great bargain, I simply can't help myself...which leads me to this post.

I bought some Faux Fur fashion for both myself and my sister. I love faux fur..always have. 

Here is a pic of the vest I bought (my husband chuckled when I walked out of my closet in it; I told him faux fur is fashionable now...but I digress)

So it got me to thinking about gorgeous white rooms with faux fur adorned floors, or sofas with gorgeous  fur pillows.  So here are several inspiration pics from my fur purchase!
